Who am I?
My name is César Cuauhtémoc García Hernández and I’m one of those lucky people who get to think about what they love from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to sleep.
I’m a scholar of immigration law and author of three books: Welcome the Wretched: In Defense of the “Criminal Alien”; Migrating to Prison: America’s Obsession with Locking Up Immigrants; and Crimmigration Law. I have also published opinion pieces in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Time, The Guardian, The Nation, and more.
When I’m not writing, I’m teaching at Ohio State University where I’m a tenured law professor and the Gregory H. Williams Chair in Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
